Professor Pandit, Scientific Officer, is pleased to announce that he has on behalf of DAS applied for, and successfully received Partner status with the National Institutes for Health Research, NIHR. This means that any recipient of a DAS grant, of whatever nature, is automatically eligible for registration of the project with the local Clinical Research Network portfolio, and this in turn can bring in extra resource support (eg, research nurses, some costs, etc).
This is very important news and makes DAS truly independent in its potential management of its funding for grant awards. Hitherto, the NIAA was the only anaesthetic organisation with NIHR partner status, so this is an important step in the maturation of DAS as a leading supporter and funder of airway related research.
