This study day consists of: 
Practical skill stations offering hands-on practice on sheep larynxes and tracheas (see below)
 
Lectures session including:
  • The ICM approach to percutaneous tracheostomy
  • The ENT approach to Surgical Tracheostomy
  • The Anaesthetic Approach to Cricothyrotomy
  • The EM & HEMS approach to front of neck access.
Pre-course scenario questionnaire and multidisciplinary discussion
 
It is aimed at all grades of Anaesthetists, ICM doctors, ENT specialists, Emergency Medicine and HEMS doctors and other healthcare practitioners interested in front of neck access.
 
Hands-on practice on Sheep Larynx and Trachea:
  • Needle cirothyrodotomy
  • Jet Ventilation
  • Quicktrach 
  • PCK 
  • Wire-guided Cricothyrodotomy (Melker) 
  • Surgical Cricothyrodotomy
  • Percutaneous tracheostomy 
  • Surgical tracheostomy
