Berman, an American anaesthetist, designed airways to aid blind intubation. His airways are useful to aid oral fibreoptic intubation. Single use disposable. In the UK there are 3 sizes/lengths 8 cm (2408), 9 cm (2409), 10 cm (2410) and a pack-of-three (2411). Packs of 50. The 10 cm is too short for a large adult. The US website shows 7 sizes going down to baby and up to 11 cm. Why can't we have those in UK? |

There are three sizes of mask #3 (7130i), #4 (7140i), #5 (7150i)and three tube sizes (7.0, 7.5 and 8.0 mm). Each tube will go through any mask. A kit (7190iK) contains all size masks and tubes, plus three stabilising rods. The masks can be autoclaved 40 times and the special wire-spiralled tubes 10 times. Designed for blind intubation but can be used with the fibrescope for a visual technique. |

The Manujet is also made by VBM and hence sold by Freelance Surgical. It is really a Sanders injector with pressure gauge and adjustable driving pressure. Driving pressure can be adjusted betwen zero and 4 Bar. When buying, specify the length of oxygen hose that you would like and also the connector to go on the end. Do you want to plug it into the 4 Bar oxygen pipeline at the wall, or to that that small 4 Bar connector on the machine? Usually comes in a box as a kit (30-01-003) with 3 TTJV catheters. |

Cook sell a number of difficult airway products. The Aintree catheter is a hollow bougie which fits over a standard intubating fibrescope. It aids intubation through a dedicated airway such as a laryngeal mask. Place the LM, load the Aintree catheter onto the fibrescope, pass the fibrescope to the carina and slide off the Aintree. Remove the fibrescope and LM, and intubate over the Aintree. The standard size is 56 cm long and 19 Fr (C-CAE-19.0-56-AIC). The website lists one the same width but 83 cm long (C-CAE-19.0-83-AIC); what's that for? |
