The PAWS course is an intensive one day course focusing on the assessment and management of the anticipated or unanticipated difficult airway. Management is based on the DAS algorithms and the core skills involved. It includes fibreoptic techniques,the use of Proseal and Intubating LMA, jet ventilation and cricothyoidotomy.
The day is split between a series of short lectures and case discussions in the morning, followed by several workshop stations and a live fibreoptic demonstration after lunch.
Portsmouth Airway Workshop Course was started in 2001 and has become a acknowedged national course with an excellent reputation and is recognized for CME points.
